Towards a Business Process Formalisation based on an Architecture-centred Approach

Résumé:

Nowadays, enterprises need to control their business processes and to manage more and more information. EAI - Enterprise Application Integration - solutions offer a partial response to these requirements. However, the lack of formalisation that characterises such solutions limits the reuse, and verification of properties. This paper claims that business processes have to be formally defined using a formalism that presents certain features (representation of several abstraction levels, domain specific concepts, property expression and preservation, etc.) and proposes the use of an ADL - Architecture Description Language - as formalism. A case study illustrates our proposition.
